I first got to know Sam and Mike when we met up for their pre wedding photo shoot. We decided Thompson’s Park in Burnley, Lancashire would be an ideal location to explore, relax and have some photos taken in preparation for their wedding day at Stanley House Hotel and Spa Blackburn, not far from the beautiful Ribble Valley.

As this Lancashire Wedding Venue isn’t too far from where I live, it was a nice leisurely start to the day for me and my assistant. The weather was perfect, albeit a little cold, but the sun shone all day till mid evening. Sam was keen to have the “umbrella shot” so a little bit of rain was just the job.

Stanley House is an exclusive Lancashire wedding venue which is situated close to the towns of Blackburn, Whalley, Clitheroe and the city of Preston as well as having easy access from many other areas of Lancashire, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.

It is a 17th century manor house which is complimented with opulent modern facilities. This unique blend of conventional and contemporary along with its unspoiled views of the beautiful Ribble Valley countryside make Stanley House one of the top Lancashire wedding venues of choice for many brides and grooms. We were certainly spoilt for choice when it came to choosing locations for wedding photographs.

The manicured lawns offer an excellent spot to mingle with friends and family after the wedding ceremony and provide a great location for wedding photographers to capture some more formal photos of the bridal party and family.

The woodland walk however is a haven of tranquillity where photographers are able to capture some of the many informal private moments that make wonderful photos for the bride and groom to treasure.
