Privacy Policy

Debra O'Connor's commitment to your Privacy

I am committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected at all times. Sometimes I need you to provide me with personal information such as your name, address, phone number and email address. This is usually so that I can contact you if there are any issues with your order, or a need to speak to you prior to a photo shoot. Sometimes I keep information where you have given me authority to use your images for example “Model Calls”.

Sometimes my emails can end up in people’s spam boxes so a telephone number is useful to text and alert you that an email is on its way.

If you have booked me for your wedding, I use the information to prepare your contract.

I never sell on, or share information with third parties. However, I do share images with third party print labs if you order print products from me.

What I collect

I may collect the following information:

•    Names
•    Email address
•    Mobile number
•    Your home address (Model Release, Wedding Contracts and print orders)
•    The address where you are getting ready on the morning of your wedding
•    Names and phone numbers of key family members (Weddings)

How do I use your Information

To be fair, I don’t do a right lot with your information other than use it to collate contracts and contact you for further information.

If you have booked me for a wedding I will print off documents and place them in an A4 ring binder for ease of access and just on the off chance my computer breaks on the day of your wedding. I also create a folder on my computer where I save all correspondence, contracts etc. Emails are also saved.

Signed model release forms are kept in an A4 ring binder for future reference

Nursery orders are kept as proof of sale for my accountant / HMRC. However, all images are purged after 6 months and are no longer available.

If you order photographs or wedding albums from me, then I share your images with a professional print lab so they can provide the goods.

Privacy and your Individual Rights

The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) includes the following rights for individuals:
•    The right to be informed
•    The right of access
•    A right to rectification
•    The right to erasure
•    Right to restrict processing
•    The right to data portability
•    A right to object
•    The right not to be subject to automated decision-making including profiling

Removal of Personal Date

Under GDPR, everyone has the right to have their personal data removed. If you feel the need to have your data / photographs removed, just ask, I will always honour your request.
Lawful Processing of Data
I only ever process data from actual bookings. If your enquiry doesn’t result in a booking I will delete your details from my records and no further contact will be made unless you have specifically asked me to keep your details on record and contact you at a later date.

Access Requests

If you want to know what data I hold on you, you have every right to ask. Please email me requesting this information.
Consent

The GDPR states; “any freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of the data subject’s wishes by which he or she, by a statement or by a clear affirmative action, signifies agreement to the processing of personal data relating to him or her”

If I ever wish to use your data (photographs) in ways other than providing you with digital images, photographs, or wedding albums, I will always ask for your consent. I never share images on Social Media without your consent. If you have booked me for your wedding, you will be asked if you are happy for me to share your images on my website / blogs. There is no pressure to say yes, I will always honour your wishes.

Wedding Consent and Guests

Throughout a wedding day, I will aim to get photos of you and all of your guests, this is normally at your request. During the main family and friends photos, or where I am documenting your day with images, I will work on the assumption that everyone is happy for me to photograph them.

If it is clear that someone doesn’t want their photograph taking, I won’t. If I am asked not to photograph someone, I won’t. If anyone asks me to delete a photograph, I will, it’s as simple as that. Please note, this may result in some guests not being part of the final presentation of images.

Removing Photographs

You and your family (portraits) and your guests (weddings) have a right NOT to be featured on my website. I work on the assumption that you and your guests are fine with me featuring photos. If I happen to capture an image for example at your wedding and I feel this may cause embarrassment to you or your guests, then I would like to reassure you that I will not post this online or use it for marketing purposes.
If any of your guests contact me and request that their photo is removed, I will remove the whole photo.

Emailing You

I don’t keep any email list, and I never send out bulk promotional emails, so you can rest assured that I will not be emailing you (unless you have specifically asked me to). I won’t sell your email address, or any other data for that matter to any third party.

Security

I take security very seriously. In fact serious enough to change my website service providers. I now have a new website built with an https secure address because my old site did not have this secure facility. If you complete my contact form this will now be sent securely to me. You can be assured that any information on my website is secure as it can be in today’s world.
Any clerical data I hold on you is always kept securely on my premises.
I keep all data on my computer securely.

GDPR Compliance

I am committed to keeping up to date with changes in legislation, and I am working on ensuring that I am fully GDPR compliant, my new website is testament to this.
