I first met Niamh and Josh some time ago at Niamh's Brother's wedding at Eaves Hall in the beautiful Ribble Valley.

Niamh was a bridesmaid, but on this day she was the stunning bride at her own wedding at the quirky Hobbit Hill in the scenic Ribble Valley, an area of natural beauty.

Niamh and Josh chose to have a pre-wedding photo shoot, so I took the opportunity to take them to their wedding venue and practice some of the images I would be creating on their wedding day, in particular using the drone to capture footage from above and still images too.

Hobbit Hill is part of Foxfields Farm which sweeps down lush rolling hillside to the banks of the River Ribble.
The owner has chosen the most idyllic and picturesque corner of his farm for Hobbit Hill, with the glamping cabins sheltered by woodland with scenic views across and beyond the rolling hills to Pendle Hill, the River Ribble and beyond.

Much of the legendary Tolkien Trail passes through and around Foxfields Farm, along the meandering river, across the fields and up through Stonyhurst, making Hobbit Hill the perfect place from which to walk the Trail.

In 2019 the owner decided to turn the farmland into a stunning wedding venue with a brand new purpose built wedding Barn seating up to 150 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 200 guests for evening celebrations. The Wedding Barn is a truly amazing glass-fronted barn with oak trusses up to the roof, flagged floors, glass bi-fold doors to bring the outside in – both rustic and beautifully contemporary, why wouldn't you want to say "I do" here.

The wooden glamping huts create on-site accommodation for the wedding couple plus family and friends with a bespoke Bridal Suite Lodge nestled behind the woods for that special treat.

On their wedding day Niamh chose to have her bridal preparations at the lodge with the girls, while Josh and his best man made their entrance in a bright red porsche speedster. I used the drone to capture images of his arriving through the entrance to Hobbit Hill. Later I captured Niamh and the girls walking up before walking through to the enchanted woodland for their intimate ceremony among family and friends.

I hope you enjoy looking at their photos, it certainly brings a smile back to my face remembering how much fun and laughter there was on their special day.
